Dear Ms Hurt,

I found a reference to (and possible origin for) Beast's pet phrase in a Hans Christian Andersen story and thought that you might like it for your page.

It is from the story 'Ole The Tower-Keeper'.

"And then to think that we all, even with patent lacquer, are nothing more than insects of a moment on that ant-hill the earth, though we may be insects with stars and garters, places and offices! One feels...."

Hope it's of use to you.

By the way, I really like all your pages. I always make it a point to visit them. In fact, they were where I gathered most of my (admittedly still scanty) knowledge of early and more current canon.

Yours Sincerely,
Alexia Falcon.
